Space and Rocket

First grade students created paintings of space using crayons and black tempera paint. Out of a paper towel roll they created a rocket ship using tin foil foam shapes and paper.

boats

Boats were created by the first graders.  using pieces of cardboard they printed the shape of their boat with black paint.  next they colored in their  boats using fluorescent pastels the background was painted with different shades of blue and green and white paint.












Chanukiah

First graders created a  menorah (chanukiah)  for Chanukkah. they used wood and clay and then painted with acrylic paint.

Line paintings

The first grade students studied about different lines. The students used paper 12" x 18" in the first class they painted lines in black acrylic paint on their paper. In the second class they use liquid water color to paint in the back rounds between the lines. They are so colorful.

Artist trading cards

I am working with my students to create artist trading cards which we will be sending and switching with other schools . This project is being put together by Nick Hann from the blog min Matisse. I am so excited to see what my students make and what Artist trading cards we get in the trade with other schools.
